Established in 1997, the Community Sailing Center hosts the only high school sailing team in Vermont! All interested students from area high schools (public or private) and home schools that have sailing experience and are in good standing at their school are welcome as team members. NVHSST offers sailors the chance to fine tune their skills during regular team practices and compete throughout New England. The team practices three to five days a week after school, with weekend regattas both at home and away. We sail and compete in both the spring and the fall.
Each sailor practices 3 days/week. The Community Sailing Center provides 420 sailboats, access to the water, coaching, PFDs (although most sailors prefer to have their own), scholarships and facilities.
Current participating schools include: Champlain Valley Union HS, Burlington HS, Essex HS, Rice HS, South Burlington HS and Vermont Commons School. But you can register from any school in Vermont.
