About the Community Sailing Center (CSC)
Our mission is to encourage and celebrate the responsible use and long-term stewardship of Lake Champlain by fostering educational and recreational opportunities for all members of our community. The CSC is located on the waterfront in Burlington, VT and continues to grant lake access to the city after 20 spectacular years. CSC offers programs for local youth, adult, students, and visiting sailing and paddling enthusiasts. The CSC hosts three signature events each year where the community comes together to celebrate the Lake. CSC’s programs range from recreational to racing and accommodate every sailor. Our fleet is composed of Open Bics, Hartley 10s, Escapes, 420’s, Lasers, Sonars, Rhodes 19s, Martin 16’s, and Stand Up Paddleboards.
About Burlington, VT
If you’ve never been to Burlington, come visit us, you won’t be disappointed! Nestled between the epic Green Mountains and the Adirondacks, Burlington sits on the shores of Lake Champlain and has fun opportunities for everyone. There are several yacht clubs in the nearby towns that provide racing on dinghies and keelboats. Lake Champlain is a regional destination for large regattas and local sailors are always interested in having new crew. Other than sailing, there are numerous opportunities to get outside and hike, bike, and swim. Downtown Burlington is just minutes away from the CSC and supports a lively music scene with a multitude of delicious local restaurants.
Seasonal Job Opportunities
Sailing Instructor/Sailing Assistant
Would you love to share your passion for sailing with others? Do you enjoy working with youth and adults? If you answered yes, check out our Sailing Instructor positions. Our team of US Sailing certified instructors spend the summer on the water providing a once in a lifetime experience to participants of all ages and abilities. Sailing instructors deliver on-the-water instruction for various classes and programs and are responsible for delivering a formal curriculum and teaching practical skills. A US Sailing Level 1 or the ability to earn one is required.
Sailing Instructors must be 18 years or older, Sailing Assistant positions are for those under the age of 18.

Waterfront Coordinator
Do you prefer being out on the water? Do you have experience handling power boats and possess a valid Boater’s License? Do you have an eye for detail and water safety awareness? Check out our Waterfront Coordinator positions! WCs supervise and manage the waterfront and our docks. They frequently help customers with their rentals, direct dock traffic, bring customers to moorings, and keep the waterfront flowing smoothly. Outstanding boating skills and customer service are required. A boating license or ability to acquire one is required. Full and part time positions are available.
